Most security technology collects data — video footage, audio recordings, location data. This collection creates real compliance obligations. Triton Sensors takes a fundamentally different approach. Instead of recording what people do, Triton sensors detect what’s in the air — and alert management when something shouldn’t be there.

The Triton Sensor Platform: What It Detects and How
No Cameras. No Microphones. No PII.
The Triton sensor’s core design principle is detection without surveillance. Each unit contains chemical particle detectors, acoustic sensors, and temperature/humidity sensors — but no camera, no audio recorder, and no facial recognition capability. The device detects chemistry and acoustics, not identities. It can tell you that someone vaped in the third-floor bathroom at 2:47 PM. It cannot tell you who.
This distinction matters enormously for deployment in legally sensitive spaces: restrooms, locker rooms, changing rooms, and employee-only areas. Triton sensors provide actionable detection in exactly these spaces, with zero privacy liability.
Full Detection Capability
Vape and Smoke Detection: Identifies chemical signatures of nicotine vapor, THC vapor, and tobacco smoke within seconds of an event. Gunshot Detection: Supported models include acoustic gunshot detection — identifying the acoustic signature of a gunshot and sending an immediate high-priority alert. Air Quality Monitoring: Continuously monitors CO2, temperature, humidity, and particulate matter. Tamper Detection: If someone covers, disables, or physically moves the device, an alert is generated immediately.
How Alerts Work
When any detection event occurs, the Triton platform sends alerts through administrator-configured channels: push notification, SMS, email, or integration with third-party systems via webhook. Alerts include the sensor location, the event type, and the timestamp.
HIPAA and Privacy Compliance
For healthcare organizations, the absence of audio or video recording is a critical compliance feature. HIPAA’s Privacy Rule governs how protected health information is handled — and a camera in a hospital bathroom or clinical changing area would create immediate violations. Triton sensors have no such exposure.
Integration With Existing Security Systems
Triton sensors integrate via API with many existing security platforms, access control systems, and building management systems. A gunshot detection event from a Triton sensor can trigger a lockdown in an access control system, automatically locking all electronically controlled doors.
Detection without surveillance — that's the future of security in spaces where privacy is non-negotiable.
