Cogency Global is a corporate-services firm founded in 1980 and headquartered at 122 East 42nd Street in Manhattan. It provides registered-agent, corporate filing, compliance and due-diligence services to law firms and businesses. Its 45,000 sq ft headquarters floor runs on video calls and cloud applications all day.
UniFi Wi-Fi 7 access points, all centrally managed
One headquarters floor with full, even coverage and no dead spots
New Cat 6a cable runs, 10-gigabit capable
From kickoff to full cutover, with minimal disruption
THE CHALLENGE
The office Wi-Fi at Cogency Global’s headquarters had never worked properly, from the day it was installed. The existing Aruba Instant On system left dead spots across the floor. Speeds were poor even where staff had a signal, and devices dropped off the network as people moved between desks, offices and conference rooms. For a team that runs on video meetings and cloud applications, that meant constant interruptions and workarounds.
WHAT SOLVED IT DID
Replace, don’t patch
Instead of adding more hardware to a system that was never designed right, we replaced it with a complete UniFi Wi-Fi 7 network: 22 access points across the 45,000 sq ft floor, placed around how the space is actually used (open office, private offices and the boardroom) for even coverage and clean handoffs.
New Cat 6a cabling, 10G-ready
We ran 22 new Cat 6a drops, one to every access point, so the network is 10-gigabit capable and ready for the next generation of hardware.
Built to fit the space
Clean conduit drops and junction-box mounts in the exposed-ceiling areas, and flush ceiling mounts in the finished boardroom.
Done in about a week
The full deployment and cutover took roughly one week, with minimal disruption to the client’s day-to-day work.

The Results
- No dead spots anywhere on the 45,000 sq ft floor
- Seamless roaming: staff move from desk to boardroom without dropped calls or reconnecting
- Fast, consistent speeds across the office
- No more devices falling off the network
- Wi-Fi 7 access points on 10G-capable Cat 6a cabling, ready for the future
- One centrally managed UniFi network instead of a patchwork
