THE CHALLENGE
Lindenmeyr Munroe was moving its entire Northeast distribution center and office into a new 150,000+ square foot building on Long Island. The network had to be built from the ground up and working before the move, because orders, shipping and the office team all depend on it. A building this size is demanding: distances are long, ceilings are high and steel racking gets in the way of wireless signals. The company needed one partner to design and install everything, from the cabling backbone and network closets to the Cisco switching and Wi-Fi across the entire floor.
WHAT SOLVED IT DID
Structured cabling at warehouse scale
We installed more than 600 Cat 6a cables across the facility, neatly dressed in every closet, with 12 armored multimode fiber cables forming the backbone between closets.
An MDF and five IDFs, built out from scratch
We built the main distribution frame and five intermediate distribution frames, so every part of the warehouse is within reach of a network closet, with clean cable management and clearly labeled switches.
Cisco network equipment installed
We installed the Cisco switching and network equipment in the MDF and every IDF and brought the whole network online, ready for the office and distribution teams to move in.
Wi-Fi across the whole floor
More than 75 Cisco wireless access points cover the warehouse, from the offices to the racking aisles.
